SelfieBox Photo booth hire during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.

A note from the SelfieBox Directors:

As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic grows, I wanted you to hear directly from us about the mitigation efforts that SelfieBox (Pty) Ltd has enacted to reduce the risk of infection to our team members, our clients and their guests.

Our focus remains on supporting our SelfieBox team, while at the same time doing our part to preserve the health, safety, and well-being of all those with whom we come in contact.

I think it is extremely safe to assume that everyone has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in one way or another. The entire photo booth industry relies on a healthy events industry, and the events industry relies on the ability for us to be able to come together as a community and celebrate special days.

As we look toward the future and anticipate what it holds for us, we at SelfieBox SA are working every day to ensure our level of customer service our clients are accustomed to is not diminished.

We continue to closely monitor and assess this evolving situation, and any changes in company policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 precautions will be based on scientific studies and official reports, and any changes we make will be updated here.

We can’t emphasize just how much we are itching to get back to celebrating with you all, and we are making sure that we are able to get to that point as safely as possible by expanding and refining our policies. Measures being implemented:

1. Face Masks / Shields

In addition to their usual all-black attire, our staff will be required to wear Face masks and/or Face shields, and those with long hair will be required to wear their hair tied or pinned up to prevent touching their face and hair throughout the event.

2. No-touch

All SelfieBox photo booths, mentioned on the Our Booths page will be applicable. For the foreseeable future, our Attendants will be the only ones allowed to touch the photo booth screen during attended events with the SelfieBox photo booths!

Guests will be required to maintain social distance from the photo booth and Attendant/s for the duration of the photo booth hire / rental period.

3. Sanitized SelfieBox Photo booths

Our SelfieBox Photo booth hire will operate as usual, but our staff will sanitize everything before the event begins and at the end of the photo booth hire / rental time.

4. Limits on Number of Guests

Maintaining a safe distance is important, and so is keeping the required regulations from Government. As it is currently (July 2020), there is a limit of 50 people per Event. Should this change we will adapt our Policies to match this during any Photo booth hire period.

5. No props

We know this is a significant bummer, but there is no feasible way to properly sanitize every prop between guests, so we will be foregoing props for the foreseeable future. Digital props will still be available on our HaloBox, Tuxedo and SelfieBox Shifts. 

6. A different way to Social Share

Instead of typing on the Screen when texting and emailing during the SelfieBox photo booth hire time, a link and corresponding QR code will be displayed near the SelfieBox photo booths at the event showing guests where they can go on their phone’s browser to access all of the Events’ photos.

Provided there is adequate internet service available at the venue, photos will sync to the folder automatically as they are taken. This eliminates the need to touch any surface, and still allows guests to get digital copies of their photos. Should you still require your Email address or Cell number to be entered, our Attendant only will do the typing.

7. Sanitizing all equipment before and after events

All our equipment will be sanitized before and after events, and all our SelfieBox photo booths and equipment will be sanitized inside our Office and storage facilities as well.

OPTIONAL – Next day prints

For our Clients who have prints as part of their Photo booth hire package, and would like to eliminate an additional point of contact at their Event, we are providing the option for next day prints. While our Attendants are out at events, we will be printing the photos at our Office.

We will package them up, and depending on your preferred delivery location, we can either hand-deliver the following day or mail them via standard Courier costs. We will apply the rule of one print per the amount of people in the image, so if there are 4 people in the image – we will Print 4 copies.
